Broad Shoulders Animal Rescue is an animal rescue/network of foster homes in Chicago. We are all volunteer- a handful of great foster homes, 6 dedicated board members, some amazing volunteers and a great many wonderful supporters. BSAR promotes animal adoption, TNR, the No-Kill Movement & veganism in order to make Chicago a more animal-friendly place.

Adoption Process
In order to adopt, you must have proof that you can have animals (a copy of your lease or your landlord's contact information), answer a questionnaire and sign a contract, along with a few other small things. All animals we adopt out have their spay/neuter surgeries, all vaccinations they should receive for their age and condition, microchipping, parasite treatment, preventative care and treatment for any illness. We want these companion animals to get into good, forever homes; recuperating our expenses is a secondary concern (although, the more money we get, the more animals we can afford to take in!).
Our animals are in foster homes, and visits can easily be arranged -- we want you to find the best companion for your situation, so the more you meet the better. Also we help work with you to help you find the purrrfect match!
Please note: We prefer to adopt all kittens as pairs with another litter-mate or another kitten or friendly older cat.
