Kobie, an adult (3-7 years old) tricolor male, is a subdued dog. He is, however, coming out of his shell and seeks to be around people and enjoys getting attention, and other affection. He has great manners, and is housetrained. He gets along with both cats and dogs, and is fairly quiet, unless one of his fur-foster siblings prompts him, or if he is playing a good game of chase, which he loves to play, then he will let out a bark or two. Kobie is not food aggressive and is good for grooming, including nail trims. He loves walks and is good on his leash.
His foster parents are teaching Kobie how not to jump on furniture or to counter cruise. Kobie does great in both areas, and will only scarf down something if it's at the edge of a counter on a coffee table. Kobie is a type 2 diabetic, which means although he needs insulin, his condition goes into remission for periods when he does not need injections so his condition needs to be gauged daily thru blood and/or urine checks to determine when he is moving from one stage to another so the insulin injections can be administered after meals when needed. He is being monitored regularly in case his condition changes. So far, he has been stable since March. Kobie is really learning and thriving. He will make a wonderful companion. **The age of many BROOD dogs is unknown, as very few come with official records. The estimate on the dog`s age is usually the initial estimate given by the receiving shelter, which may be different from that given at the time of initial checkup. Different veterinarians may also give different ages, and those different opinions are sometimes reflected on the records. ***BROOD`s adoption fees are determined based on age of the dog.
