About SPCA Suncoast
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of West Pasco has been saving lives and finding homes since 1964 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Currently, we are saving the lives of hundreds of adoptable pets every year. The SPCA temporarily provides a home for animals that become separated from their families and those who are surrendered for a variety of reasons. Our dedicated staff provides them attention, health care, food, a clean place to sleep, and love while they live at the shelter.
Mission Statement
The SPCA Suncoast's mission is to save, protect and improve the lives of our community's animals, to provide necessary care and treatment, to advocate for their welfare, educate the public and enhance the human-animal bond.

Adoption Process
SPCA Adoption
At the SPCA Suncoast our first priority is to care for the animals in need at our shelter. Our second priority is to assist each person who enters our facility to find a Lifelong Friend. Our adoption counselors are ready to help you find the dog or cat that suits your lifestyle and will provide you with years of joy and companionship. Toward that end, we ask a few simple questions prior to approving any of our adoptions:
Are you at least 21 years of age and employed?
Do you own your home? If a renter, landlord approval will be required.
Are there other animals in the household? If so, name of veterinarian.
Are other animals in your household up to date on vaccinations?
Are your current pets up to date on heartworm preventative?
Are there children in the household?
Will your new pet be kept inside?
Have you ever adopted from us before?
Is the entire family in agreement with the adoption?
