Mission Statement The Licking County Humane Society provides a secure shelter for dogs and cats while maintaining the resources needed to ensure they are placed for adoption with care and respect.Furthermore we are a public advocate for the proper treatment of all animals and to ensure that their overpopulation is controlled by spaying and neutering. The Licking County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter, 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization. LCHS relies solely on donations and largely on volunteers to do vital work in the community.

Adoption Process

Please complete and submit an adoption application online or drop it off at our shelter. Once submitted, an adoption coordinator will contact the references listed. We require landlord approval for renters and verification of vaccines for other pets in the home. The approval process can take up to 48 hours, however it may take longer depending on the availability of your references. The Licking County Humane Society only approves adoptions to Ohio residents and does not do out-of-state adoptions. Adoption Fees: Puppies-$150 plus a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit Dogs-$135 Kittens-$85 plus a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit Cats-$85 All our animals are checked by our veterinarian, tested for heartworm or FELV/FIV, wormed, vaccinated and microchipped.
