Adoption Process

Frederick County Animal Control will only accept two applications per animals. Visitors interact with an adoptable animal, for dog adoptions we encourage a meet and greet if you currently own a dog(s). Fill out an application and schedule an interview. Requirements include: Cats, dogs, and ferrets you own must have a current rabies vaccination. Cats and dogs must have a Frederick County License. All members of the family must meet the animal. Property verification - Lanlord approval or property ownership verification. All cat and dog adoption includes: Spaying/neutering, a microchip/registration, distemper vaccination, a vet wellness visit, rabies voucher & a County License.
