Caloosa Humane Society
We are a Non-Profit, 501 (c) 3 organization funded by donations and fundraisers only. We do not receive any funds from any city, county or government entity, HSUS, ASPCA or any other organization. We are a small shelter that accepts owner released dogs and cats from our service area of Glades and Hendry Counties for a small, mandatory fee. We also accept horses from Glades and Hendry County Sheriff's Departments. We are a staff of only 2 who work very hard for our pets and their future which may include you and your family! Our shelter may be closed some Wednesdays and Fridays for Spay Neuter Surgery. Dates are posted in our lobby, on our website and in all auto-response e-mails. We also may be closed or close early due to staffing availablility.

Adoption Process
To adopt, you must come to the shelter and meet the adoptable pets. After choosing one that suits your family best, you will fill out an adoption application to be considered for approval. If approved you will then sign an adoption contract and adoption receipt, pay the adoption donation and your pet will be scheduled for the next surgery date to be altered. Your pet will be available for pick up 3 days after surgery. If the pet you chose is already altered, you can take your newly adopted pet home the same day!
