The Animal Rescue League Story The Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania has a rich history, filled with many triumphs and heartaches, beginning in the early twentieth century. In all the events that have occurred throughout the years, there is one common concern that the Animal Rescue League consistently stands for: the well-being and love of animals.

Adoption Process

When coming to adopt an animal please be sure to give you and your family enough time to get to know the pet you are interested in adopting. We ask that all family members in the home come to meet the pet, as well as any current dogs if you are interested in adoption of another dog. Also bring identification and a lease stating you can have a pet if you rent your home. Please contact the adoption department (412-661-6452 ext 215) with questions about the adoption process or animals you are interested in meeting.
