Foothills Animal Rescue
Foothills Animal Rescue is committed to compassionate and humane treatment of dogs and cats in need through rescue, shelter, fostering and adoption within Maricopa County.
Foothills Animal Rescue (FAR) was founded in 1995. We are a no-kill 501(c)3 organization that focuses on rescuing and adopting cats and dogs in Maricopa County.
FAR provides education, referrals and resources to the public regarding animal welfare. We intake animals from the public as well as those on euthanasia lists at Maricopa County Animal Care, Control and Arizona Humane Society, when space becomes available at our facility.
FAR welcomes any volunteer that can make a commitment to our mission and assist us in a professional manner to care for the animals while they are at our facility.

Adoption Process
By adopting one or more animals into your home, you make space available for FAR to take in more animals continue the process of saving lives. Every animal that leaves FAR has been:
·thoroughly examined by our veterinarian
·spayed/neutered
·fully vaccinated
·microchipped through 24PetWatch
·tested for FeLV and FIV (cats)
·treated for worms, fleas, ear mites, etc
·comes with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by ShelterCare
·are tested for Tick Fever, Heartworm, Lyme Disease (dogs).
The adoption fee for one dog up to 7 years old is $225 and two dogs is $350; 7 years and older or special needs - $150 for one, $225 for two.
The adoption fee for one cat up to 10 years old is $100 and two cats is $150; 10 years and older or special needs - $50 one, two for $75. The adoption fee for exotic cats is $200.
Many animals taken into FAR's care have had medical issues ranging from simple colds to critical care.
