YES Date: 1/17/12 The people I currently live with are: adults I interact with them this way: I want nothing more than to sit in your lap. I am a little hyper and will jump on people when I first wake up and around dinner time/when people get home from work but I'm still a puppy and I'm learning quickly that if I sit I get more attention than if I jump! Other pets I currently live with are: Margo (dog)-large selective female shepard, Dandy a large cat who teases me until I play very gentle chase Activities I enjoy are: Please mark all that apply o Car rides o Climbing- I love hiking in the woods as long as you come with me! o Quiet time-I love to curl up on the couch and watch tv or fall asleep in bed while you study or read a book o Walks-I love to walk my energy off, I am very good on the leash but I'm not a great jogging partner o Toys-I sometimes like toys but I am still learning what my toys are and what things are NOT my toys...I like newspaper a lot, but my foster mom doesn't want me to eat it because she is afraid I will eat her books Things I am afraid of: Please mark all that apply o Being left alone o I don't like to go outside by myself in bad(cold/wet/snowy/windy) weather...I'm not afraid of the weather itself I just prefer the warmth of the house If there are more you have figured out please list. She thinks I will grow up to be a very mellow dog. My vocalization level is o Moderate- I generally only vocalize when I am left alone...but I have a high pitched whine/cry, occasionally I will bark if I get very excited, sometimes I growl at the cat if the cat growls at me Training I have learned- working on potty training, pretty good with no and sit, learning off, wait high five and down My feeding schedule is: 1 cup am, and I get about 1.5 cups in a kong toy for dinner that I have to play with in order to get my dinner out My food now is: Purina Dog food My crate size is:medium Am I crate trained? YES Comments: I will go in the crate fine but will cry when you leave for a while and continue to cry if I can hear anybody in the house Am I potty trained? In progress -Comments about my potty training progress: I am very good at going outside to pee, I will sometimes poop in my crate even if you only leave me for a few minutes. My foster mom thinks its partially because of my bad weather aversion but we are working on it and I am learning! I have behavioral special needs: Resource guarding: NONE Please explain: I have fearful behavior: Separation anxiety Please explain: I get frustrated when I cant be in your lap but I will settle a few minutes if nobody is home. I have medical special needs: NONE Other stuff my foster parents think is important for you to know: Because I am a "bully breed mix" I do require a fully fenced yard and obedience class completion. ************************************************************************************************************ Adoption Procedures: We only consider your home for adoption after we receive an application. Once this is complete we then move on in the process to adopting your new best friend. Once we receive an application we review it to see if the particular dog(s) might be a good fit for your home/lifestyle and that you meet the required needs of the dog. Once this is done we proceed to check veterinary references. This is to ensure that pets you have or have had in the past were cared for, altered, and up to date with necessary medical care. Once you have been through this initial screening we then set up a home visit to ensure that the home is a safe home with little concern about their personality matching yours. We also want to ensure that the home is set up for the same energy levels or medical needs they may or may not have (dog that can't climb stairs, or not enough room to walk, etc.) These steps are important to ensuring that we are finding the proper home for the dog to be FURever!
