Pet Memo

Missy is very quiet. She never barks inside unless put her in her crate. She has discovered how nice it is to be and sleep outside of a crate after years of being in one. She can be kept in a crate but she will most likely eventually begin bark to get out. It would be best to have a home where she can finally be free of a crate. Although cautious, she wants to be with family and not in a crate. She likes to sleep in her dog bed at night and remains very quiet. She snoozes during the day as well. She is VERY well behaved. Once she is a bit more comfortable, she is curious and she pokes her nose about. She enjoys being outside. Tail is up and she bounces around. She sniffs everything and does her poops and pee business. She loves to play with her squeaking bear toy. She tosses it up and then chases after it. Adorable. With patience and gentleness, she will be a wonderful pet for anyone or family.

Shelter Information

People and Animals in Community Together Humane Society (PACT) is a no-kill, not-for-profit, and all volunteer animal shelter and educational organization. We were established in April of 2000 in Downers Grove, Illinois. PACT Humane Society is staffed by volunteers who serve in many different capacities including daily animal care providers (cleaning and socialization), adoption counselors, management team members, program coordinators, and advisers. To date we have adopted out over 5,000 cats and dogs in our 12 year history. We are no-kill, only euthanizing animals in advanced stages of cancer or liver disease, or an untreatable illness, where there is no quality of life or hope of recovery. We have rescued thousands of animals from animal control facilities where they would have been euthanized within a matter of days. We rescue older animals and "less-than-perfect" ones, such as dogs with heartworm, and cats with FIV or diabetes, cats missing tails, eyes or legs.
