Pet Memo

"Romeo, Romeo ... wherefore art thou, Romeo?" I am your Juliet and I am looking for LOVE and my forever family! I am a beautiful Italian Greyhound - 7 1/2 yrs old and a bit larger than most IG's at 20 pounds. I had a hard time adjusting to this wide-open, loving world, but I am constantly improving. Want to win my affections? I love to eat, and I love treats! I also enjoy being outside, and get along well with other dogs. People still do make me nervous, especially strangers. I am a flight risk, so I do require a securely fenced yard. Wherefore art thou, perfect family? Doth your affection overflow? I would love to meet you! Shyly and sweetly yours, Juliet. My adoption fee is $250. - - - - - - Please copy and paste this url to view more photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/nationalmilldogrescue/sets/72157635470558678/ - - - - - - - This dog was born in a puppy mill and, prior to being rescued, had little or no human interaction. There is always an adjustment period when learning about life outside of a cage. Most of these dogs tend to come out of their shell relatively fast, but that isn't always the case. Time, patience and understanding are crucial in helping a puppy mill survivor become a "normal" dog. Common training such as housebreaking and walking on a leash may need to be taught. Shelter Information

National Mill Dog Rescue's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry. We were established in February 2007, in honor of a forgiving little Italian Greyhound named Lily. Theresa Strader, NMDR’s Founder and Executive Director, rescued Lily from a dog auction in Missouri. Prior to that day, Lily had spent the first seven years of her life as a commercial breeding dog, a puppy mill mom. Determined that her years of living in misery would not be in vain, Strader started NMDR, giving a voice to mill dogs across the country.
