Update 4/30/13

Tessa keeps wondering why she hasn't found her fur-ever home yet. She has the classic Great Dane look with a personality to boot.

She is a typical Velcro Dane. She loves being around her humans. If you're on the computer, she is laying at your feet. If you are sleeping, she is snuggling next to you. If you're eating, she gives you the sweetest face hoping it will earn her some goodies.

She doesn't try to get on the furniture with the exception of the bed. She wants to cuddle and keep you warm on cold winter nights. But she would do fine sleeping on her dog bed as well.
Tessa is a sweet, cuddle bug. She has cropped ears, weighs about 110 lbs and stands 32 inches tall. She is a strong and healthy girl with a lot of love to give.

She loves to go for walks and car rides and her favorite toys are stuffed. She still can get her zoomies on! And she will dance for you when you scratch her hind end! She has one of the sweetest faces I've seen with big beautiful brown eyes that will melt any heart.

Tessa does have a pretty high prey drive so she will need a fenced in yard. She also does not care for cats or other dogs. Unfortunately, Tessa came from neglectful circumstances where she wasn't well cared for and that left her under-socialized with other animals. Tessa prefers a home where she is the only princess. She really enjoys getting all of the attention! Given the opportunity, she will counter surf and get into the garbage.

Tessa knows sit, down, kennel, out, back, and walks much better on a leash. She is smart and very trainable.

There hasn't been a person who has met her that didn't love her. She truly is a sweetie pie just looking to find her loving forever retirement home.

She still gets her occasional zoomies and loves playing with her stuffed toys and rolling in the grass in the Summer. All Tessa wants for Christmas is her loving forever home. Tessa is a very sweet girl and I am enjoying having her here.

My name is Tessa Rae! I am a single fawn female looking for my retirement home. I am a gorgeous girl weighing in at 110 lbs and I stand 32 inches tall. I am a people dog, not a dog dog. What can I say? I prefer to be the queen of my castle! No other dogs or cats allowed. That's just how I roll.

I am super sweet and cuddly. I love taking my humans for walks and for car rides. A fenced in yard is right up my alley as are furniture privileges. I will provide you with all the love and snuggles you can handle. I like older kids and there hasn't been a human who has met me that didn't like me.

Shelter Information

Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue is a non profit 501 c 3 organization comprised of volunteers who are Great Dane owners. We accept Purebred Great Danes from owners, breeders, animal shelters, strays, animal controls and any other legitimate sources. We give the Danes needed veterinary care and a secure and loving foster home to await adoption. Our service area is Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and the Eastern Dakotas. We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Great Dane Club of America and work closely with the recognized Great Dane Clubs in the states we serve.
