Pet Memo

I'm Lou Grant (a handsome 8 YO Chihuahua), and like my namesake, I can be a bit crotchety but have a good heart. As a youngster I was severely abused by my owner, but was rescued from him by SDR. I was very wary of my Foster parents for a very long time, but now realize that they love me and would never hurt me, so I'm now returning that love. I'm still very wary of strangers, so I get overly excited and some people think I'm aggressive. It's just that strangers have to earn my trust. I like other dogs, love to play out in the sun & take long walks, love to snooze in a nice bed, and lay on the couch with my Foster parents. I still feel that it's my duty to keep the yard and house safe from predators, so I'm always on the alert. I would love to have a forever home I could call my own, with a fenced yard so that I can do my "thing".

Shelter Information

SmallDog Rescue and Humane Society (SmallDog Rescue) is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt organization dedicated to finding loving families for homeless dogs in Georgia. We do not shy away from taking sick or difficult dogs into our program. Thanks to donations, we are able to provide excellent medical care for all of our little orphans. Our volunteers work tirelessly fostering, training, socializing, and giving the dogs all of the loving care that they so deserve. Thanks to our adopters and supporters for helping us to rescue hundreds of dogs! Please note: We only adopt to Georgia residents.
