Shelter Information

The Humane Society of Northeast Texas, a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1972 by a group of Longview citizens who wanted to ensure that the community's homeless and unwanted animals were treated with compassion and kindness. In order to provide this service, HSNTX built and continues to operate the animal shelter, located at 303 Enterprise Street in Longview. HSNTX is not run by the city or county; rather, we are funded through contracts with the communities we serve, public donations, and fees charged for adoptions or other services. Our shelter accepts all animals brought through its doors and we are dedicated to finding homes for as many of them as possible. We are passionate about the animals in our care and we work long, hard hours to provide a service that both our community and the animals in it deserve.
